Art League Gallery will host Eloquent Light, a collection of landscape photography by local artist Bill Bogle, Jr., this October. The exhibit includes familiar Lowcountry scenes of Spanish moss-draped live oaks and oceanfront dunes, the vibrant red rock formations of the American west, and solemn views along the New England coast. Bogle's passion and success lie in recording moments when the light reveals his subjects at their most meaningful. 

The University of South Carolina Beaufort presents the Department of Visual Art & Design 2019 Faculty Exhibition at the Sea Islands Center Gallery now through Sept. 21. An opening reception will take place Friday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The Sea Islands Gallery is located at 1106 Carteret Street. Contact the gallery for current hours.

Work of longtime Beaufort artist Mary Segars will be subject of new show

Mary Segars has been busy lately.

   The Beaufort painter has been flooded with commissions for everything from landscapes to portraits, and she also has a new show opening this month. 

   For an artist, it’s a good problem to have – to be popular and appreciated in one’s time. Or to, well, just be busy.
