Artists and readers alike will be intrigued by Susan Vreeland at the special Lunch With Author series luncheon on Monday, March 10, 2008 to be held at the Colleton River Plantation Clubhouse, Bluffton.  Vreeland will give an account of how she constructs novels that imagine – with historical accuracy – the lives behind the world’s greatest painters and paintings.

    It’s a new time and a new place but The Friends of the Beaufort County Library kick off their  22th annual Books Sandwiched In program on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 with the same stimulating entertainment, coffee and cookies.
    For eight weeks, through Feb. 25, book lovers are invited to gather at 1 p.m. on Mondays in the Sea Island Presbyterian Church on Lady’s Island for an opportunity to listen to  reviews of eight best sellers or books of local interest.
